http://disc.server.com/discussion.cgi?id=154569&article=4569 who is trying to unseat the KPFT GM [mailto:edi@hal-pc.org] A good example of a Buzzanco follower Thu Jul 18 18:36:24 2002 206.180.130.14 Here is a quote from Sheila Harris. She is writing on the fact that KPFT's general manager, Duane Bradley is opposed to having the HIMC doing a slander show over KPFT's airwaves and calling it news: "Now Duane Bradley, who is the GM of KPFT, does have the sole responsibility and control of what goes on over the airwaves at KPFT. HIMC has a radio program on KPFT. Duane 'echoing' concerns over a story that is in it's 'raw' stages is unacceptable. What the story would have turned out to be remains unseen. Would you be open to the GM of a Clear Channel radio station being a member of the HIMC if that before mentioned GM allotted 30 minutes of air time to the HIMC with "parental" control over what the content would be? You would also have to factor into this equasion: What if this same GM of a Clear Channel station also made an offer to put two HIMC members on the "potential payroll" and then afterwards 'echoed' concerns over stories and then asked them to be pulled based on the idea that it wouldn't be "good for the station"...would that be acceptable? HIMC does have to draw the line somewhere..or it fails to remain independent." So, if Duane is trying to protect the station and the foundation, as well as the HIMC radio show from civil litigation due to slander and defamation, then according to Harris, he is some sort of too stern parent. Sheila's advice? Blow him off and do the show anyway. * Another follower, another example of -- trying to oust our KPFT GM, Thu Jul 18 18:57
